Founded on April 14, 2001 by Law No. 4633, Izmir University of Economics started its activities with 2 faculties, 5 vocational schools and 2 institutes.
The rapidly developing university has become one of the most preferred universities in Turkey and continues to grow with 8 faculties, 2 vocational schools, 3 vocational schools and an Education Institute. In addition, Izmir University of Economics has been awarded 'institutional accreditation' by the Higher Education Quality Board (YOKAK).
Following successful evaluations in many areas such as education, research and development, social contribution, leadership and management system, Izmir University of Economics is among the distinguished higher education institutions. The number of accredited departments in the university has reached 14.
